A big congratulations to Ugne Miniotaite for becoming the first recipient of the KTH Language Award!
She received this award for her work on allowing Swedish courses to be counted toward the doctoral degree.
During her term as Education Manager in the PhD Chapter, Ugne analyzed the 2023 PhD Survey and identified that many doctoral students wanted to learn Swedish but lacked dedicated time for it. Acting on this, she initiated the process that led to the reform earlier this year. As a result, doctoral students are now allowed to include up to 10 ECTS of Swedish courses as part of their doctoral degree.
