Between the 22nd of August and the 11th of September, you may apply as a candidate in the by-election to  Council for the fiscal year of 2017-2018. Apply as a candidate here.

Being a member or substitute in the Student Union Council is an assignment that gives you:

• The chance to change and make THS better
• A community and network that stretches to all chapters within THS
• A vote about the last say at THS

THS Student Union Council is THS highest governing body and consists of 42 members and 26 substitutes. Together they decide the Unions operations and values by electing THS President and Board, deciding upon a budget and operational plan as well as voting on motions and propositions.

The Student Union Council has planned for 5 formal meetings this fiscal year, but will also be meeting for a few workshops, an education and team building. This makes the Student Union Council a commitment that is suitable to combine with other union assignments if you want to.

The elections are held in divisions between the 25th of September to the 1st of October where every chapter is its own division. To become a candidate you have to be a member of THS. The number of members in a chapter decide how many members its division gets in the Student Union Council. The by-elections are not held in the Chapter for Teachers and Masters of Science in Engineering, the Computer Science Chapter, The Electro Chapter, The Physics Chapter or the Chapter for Media Technology.

Join us for a yoga at KTH-Hallen on Wednesdays every 4th week from 14:00 to 15:00.

Next session will be on August 30.

There are plenty of health benefits with practicing yoga, both for your body and mind! In addition you get to hang out with your PhD chapter friends from your or different institutions, a great way to get new inspiration!

The session will be held by a professional instructor (in English, of course) and you can use the lockers and shower facilities in connection with the session (bring a towel if you want to shower). There will be yoga mats you can borrow during the session. Dress comfortably (like for a work-out). It will be a perfect break during your day and you can start the afternoon with lots of new energy!

The PhD Chapter Summer Meeting confirmed Andrea de Giorgio (ITM school / Production Engineering dept.) as Chairperson for 2017/18 and elected Bahram Saadatfar (ITM school / Energy Technology dept.) as Vice Chairperson for 2017/18.

The Meeting elected as Board Members for 2017/18:

A Treasurer is vacant, but the Meeting gave mandate to the Board to designate one between their members.

The Meeting elected as Auditors for 2017/18 Johan Gärdebo (ABE school / History of Science, Technology & Environment division) and Omard Shafqat (ITM school / Energy Technology dept.).

Kateryna Morozovska (EE school / Electromagnetic Engineering dept. / RCAM group) was elected as Master of Ceremonies 2017/18.

Qingyun Liu (BIO school / Theoretical Chemistry and Biology dept.) was elected as Event Manager 2017/18.

Suha Babikir Kambalawi Hasan (Industrial PhD student – ABE school / Urban Planning and Environment dept. / Urban and Regional Planning division) as Graphic Desinger 2017/18.

The new board and functionaries will start working from July 1st 2017.
