The results are in!

Yesterday, we held elections in the chapter hall for the coming academic year and here are the results!

Let us introduce our new Chairperson, Emma Riese! Emma has previously been a member of the board and has actively represented the PhD students in the Education Committee (Utbildningsutskottet) at KTH. We believe Emma will do a great job in leading the PhD Chapter Board and congratulate her on the electoral win!

There were four more board members elected. Two of these are elected for the coming academic year and two are by-elected for the fall as those positions will be elected during the fall because of the board reform issued by the resigning board. Apart from these positions, a new Master of Ceremonies was elected as well as a Vice Banner Carrier and Nominating Committee member was by-elected.

Vacancies: council chairperson, vice chairperson, council members. Council members can take functionary roles (social responsible) or representational role (e.g. representative at the programme or specialisation or department or unit/division, doctoral education council, school’s executive committee, recruitment/appointment/promotion committees, school’s strategic councils, safety/equality/sustainability committees.)

Pre-requisites: Being an active PhD student on January 2019.

Expectations:
– Being a member of the student union,
– Workload of at least 5 days a semester. This workload can be time compensated subject to different school-level conventions.
– Attending meetings with council member and be communicative with the PhD chapter board, THS and KTH within the capacity of your representational role.

Application: The application is considered valid if it was filled via the form at the end of this page. Alternatively, you can download, fill this Application form and send it to nominations [at] dr.kth.se. A person can nominate someone else, but then the nominee must accept the nomination before it is considered valid. If you have further questions please email nominations [at] dr.kth.se . The deadline for application is Dec 7th at midnight.

Election: The nominees will be elected as per their school affiliations as follows: ABE 11th/Dec kl17:17, ITM 17th/Dec kl17:17, SCI 18th/Dec kl17:17. Fika served from 17:00. Location: chapter hall (T-centralen), Drottning Kristinas väg 29. Election of chapter vacancies will be on 10th/Dec kl18:18.

Join THS Sports!

Are you ready to take the next step?

A new year has begun, it means that we, in the THS Sports, soon will start to recruit to our project group of 2018/19! We offer you, whom has shown an interest in sports during the past year, a chance to apply to positions in this year’s THS Sports!

We will be recruiting to the following positions:

Elections for nominating committee

At the PhD Chapter extra meeting on February 14th, it has been decided to delegate elections of further members of the PhD Chapter nominating committee (composed of max five members) to the board meeting on February 28th. Therefore nominations are open again!

All the nominations can be made by email at board [at] phd.ths.kth.se until February 27th at midnight. Candidates will be required to show up at the board meeting on February 28th at 16:00 on KTH Main Campus for the elections. Further details about the board meeting location will be sent by private email.

Be part of the PhD pubs and fun activities

Are you interested in organizing the PhD pubs and other fun activities with the PhD Chapter?

The position of Master of Ceremonies (klubbmästare) is up for grabs for 2017-2018 (starting in July). The position, the most fun and social experience, that can lighten up you KTH experience and brings you loads of experience of a slightly different flavor than the time spent in lab, entails organizing different events, managing the pub and organizing the team of other fun loving people to work with. If you would like to hear more about the ins and outs of the position please contact our historically existing Master of Ceremonies at omars [at] kth [dot] se.

Additionally, in case you would just like to work at the pubs the PhD Chapter is offering three training positions for FEST and STAD certifications. These trainings are a pre-requisite in order to be able to arrange the pubs.

FEST covers various topics such as fire safety and the various rules at KTH covering organization of events. It will be held on 13-14th of February 18:00 – 22:00.

STAD which is organized by various authorities covers the issues related to alcohol laws, health and conflict management workshop will be held on 20th and 22nd of February 16:00 – 21:00.

Recruitment for Education Evaluation of Doctoral Studies
